Kakkuilua - Caking

Meillä juhlittiin tänä viikonloppuna esikoisen synttäreitä ja toiveena oli heppakakkua. Neidin visio kakuista taisi olla vähän toisenlainen, mutta kyllä nämäkin kelpasivat. Ensimmäisessä kakussa, jota tarjottiin kaverisynttäreillä, oli sisällä mango-passionmoussea ja persikkaa, pursotukset kermaa. Toisessa kakussa, joka tarjolla sukulaisille ja ystäville, oli sisältönä myös perus-sokerikakkupohjan sisuksina kerma-cappucino-suklaahippu-moussea ja vadelmia, pursotukset tässäkin kermaa. Molemmissa pinta oli marsipaania, jolle kuvan maalasin syötävillä tomuväreillä. En tosin omasta mielestäni ole koskaan osannut piirtää tai maalata, mutta kyllä nämä nyt polleiksi tunnistanee... ;)

We had birthday celebration this weekend. It was the oldest one and she hoped for horse-cake. Her vision was different from mine but I made those and after all she was quite pleased with results. First cake for her school friends was made of sponge cake and inside there was mango-passion-mousse and peach as little cubics, extrusion coatings were cream. The second one, for relatives, consisted sponge cake and cream-cappucino-chocolate chip-mousse and raspberries, coatings cream. Both cakes tops were marzipan I painted the horses with paintbrush and edible dust colours. As a off-topic notice, I've always said that I do not paint or draw well, but I think these resemble horse quite well thou... ;)

Meillä pienet sairastaa ja niinpä tässä on tää viikonloppu menny lähinnä sisällä, joten mielen virkistystä oon pyrkiny saamaan taas tällä käsillä tekemisellä. Oon tässä huomannu myös, että tuo Ravelry-yhteisö on oiva paikka eksyä aiheesta toiseen. Joten... hmmmm.... mä päätin että pitää kokeilla kehräämistä. Jonkinmoisia perinnerukkeja vois aitan vintiltä löytyä, mutta ens alkuun kätevä emäntä tekee itselleen värttinän, heh. :D

My little ones have flu and fever, so I have had to be inside this weekend quite much. For somekind of refreshment I needed to do something with my own hands. I've also noticed that Ravelry community is a good place to find something new to learn and do. So I wanted to learn to spin. There are couple of spinning wheels at the attic of our shed but firstly I wanted to try a spindle, which I made myself with help of my husband. And here you see it...

Eipä ollu muuta ku Novita hahtuvaista koeajoon, mutta kyllä sillä lankaa saa aikaseks :)))  -  I did not have anything else for trial than Novita hahtuvainen, but I made some yarn :)))

 
Pitkään aikaan en oo mitään hopeajuttuja tehny, mut veljeni sai mut taas testailemaan. Hän kun haluais antaa mielitietylleen kaulaketjun. En oo vielä viestiä saanu että oisko tällänen prinsessaketju (kuningasketjun muunnos) "SE juttu", mutta kaunista se on ja nykyisillä hopean hinnoilla musta aika kallistakin. Juuri tein aikasemmin päivällä hopealankatilauksen ja hinnat on varmaan liki kaksinkertaistunu viime tilauskerrasta pari vuotta sitten...

For a long time I haven't done anything of silver. Now my brother would like to give a necklace for his sweetheart. I haven't heard from him is this princess chain ( a modification of king chain) "THE thing"? But I like this and nowadays this ain't cheap. Silver prices are quite high now, almost doubled from last time I ordered some couple of years ago...

Valmis.... TA-DAA! ... Done

No ni, tulihan siitä valmis! Jo tiistaina napitkin paikoillaan (tänään on siis torstai), mutta vasta tänään oli semmoinen ilma, että kuvaaminen onnistui edes jotenkuten. Siis todellakin jotenkuten, mutta ei hyvin. Ylimmäisessä väri suht kohdallaan, mutta kun oli aika viileää ulkona, niin takin omistaja meinasi karata sisään ennen kuin sain edes nämä kuvat :D

Malli oli siis modifioitu tästä Anadiomenan mallista Lavanda, mutta tietenkään se ei kelvannut neidille, vaan  piti olla parinapitus, erilainen neulospinta yläosassa ja toisenlaiset palmikot ja kapeampi ja vaikka mitä muuta.............. no, tämmöinen siitä tuli ja lankana oli Malabrigo Worsted väri Marron Oscuro, jota meni noin 640g, ja neidille kelpaavat napit löysin paikallisesta kangaskaupasta.

Yeah, it's ready! On Tuesday all the buttons were sewn on their places (today is Thursday), but it was just today that weather was so fine I could take some pics. Pics, well, not so fine but informative enough. In the topmost the color is quite realistic, but there was bit chilly outside and the cardi-owner was about to run inside house again before I even got these pics :D

The model was Anadiomenas Lavanda , but it wan't quite the one my daughter wanted. She requested for double buttoning, different cables and narrower all the way and many other things differently..................... well, this was ok for her. Yarn was Malabrigo Worsted color Marron Oscuro, used about 640 grams, and the buttons I found in local fabric store.

 

Valmistuu... ihan kohta - Almost ready...

Esikoisen villatakki siis... just nyt on enää viimeisen kerroksen päättäminen tekemättä, langanpäät päättelemättä ja nappeja on lähdettävä huomenna metsästämään. Mut nyt kun sattu olemaan se värimalli rötköllään tuossa lattialla niin otinpa kuvan kun kyseessä siis Susun värinen villatakki ( ja lankana Malabrigo Worsted  väriä Marron Oscuro) ja Susun väri näkyy nyt hyvin ;D

The oldest ones cardi, I mean... the last row needs some kitchener stiches and those loose ends of course I have to weave in and tomorrow I start to hunt buttons for this. But because it started from colour, the daughter of mine wanted cardigan coloured as Susu (our dog) and I found Malabrigo Worsted Marron Oscuro to fulfill the request, and now Susu laid on floor so nicely that I took picture. You can compare the colour ;D

Mä sorruin, taas... - I complied in new yarns, again...

Kuten otsikkokin kertoo... joo, niin tapahtui että mä ostelin taas lankaa ja yritän taas jatkossa pitää itseni kurissa kun... tuota... no tää torni kertonee kaiken oleellisen...

As the header tells you, more yarn bought again and I'll try to stop myself in future... well.. beacause... this tower maybe tells all you need to know...

Yritän kovasti ahertaa vapaahetkinä esikoisen villatakin kimpussa, sillä nuo kaksi pienempää ovat jo ruvenneet vaatimaan omiaan, mutta... Eilinen ilta tuli leivottua ja tämä päivä koristeltua taas pipareita. Nyt tällä kertaa tilaushommana, sillä työkaverini kuopus täyttää vuoden ja tilauksessa oli autoja, traktoreita tai jotain muuta menopeliä...

I try all my free times knit the oldest ones cardi, because pressure from those younger two is increasing that they want their owns asap! Despite that yesterday I baked and today decorated cookies again. This was a order from my workmate whos younger one turns one next weekend and they wanted some kind of vehicle cookies...

Ihan ei nyt tälläkään kertaa pikeerit olleet siitä parhaasta päästä, oli tuo vähän turhan paksuhkoa suurten pintojen täyttöön ja niinpä se ei nytkään toivotulla tavalla tasoittunut, mutta ensi kerralla sitten... vähemmän tomusokeria ;)

I wasn't satisfied with the royal icing I made this time too. It was too thick for those large fillings and so it didn't even as I'd hoped, but maybe next time.... less confectioner's sugar then ;)
