Yhtä ja toista pientä värkkäystä on tapahtunut viime aikoina. Friday Studios Hand Dyed Shetland Top Tropical Fish muuttui kuidusta langaksi, kummityttö täytti 8 vuotta ja sai korvisten asennuksen lahjaksi ja lisäksi korvikset ja riipuksen, enkeliriipukset tuli muutenkin kuvattua, One Skein Wonder valmistui ja nimesin sen Two Skein delightiksi, vanhempieni luota löytyi mummoni vanha vyyhdinpuu, tuli leipastua pari piirakkaa, suolasta ja makeeta... No näistä nyt tässä sitte kuvakertomusta.

Some things have happened lately and some pics about them... like Friday Studios Hand Dyed Shetland Top Tropical Fish turned from fiber to yarn, my goddaughter turned eight years old and got her first earrings and another pair earrings and a pendant, angel pendats got themselves photographed, One Skein Wonder finished and got named Two Skein Delight, my grannys old skein winder was found when we dropped by my parents house, I made couple of pies (salty and sweet)...

170m kaksinkertaista (80grammaa) ja 17m navajokerrattua (13grammaa) shetlanninlammasvillaa väriä Tropical Fish   -   170 metres 2-ply (80 grams) and 17 metres navajo-plied (13 grams) of Shetland wool colorway Tropical Fish.

Enkeleitä - Angels

Kummitytölle, enkeli ja Swarowskin kristalliperhoset hopeakoukuissa. - For my goddaughter, angel and Swarowski crystal butterflies in silver hangings

Tässäpä tämä, käytin joulupukin tuoman Handu BFL-langan molemmat vyyhdet (= 200g) väriä Bring Back tähän, jotta sain pidemmät hihat, mutta silti ne ovat puolihihat, koska lanka on ohuempaa kuin alkuperäisessä mallissa. Mutta lämmittää mukavasti niskaa, olkapäitä ja selkää...  - This is my view of One Skein wonder, I used Handu BFL yarn, 2 skeins (= 200 grams) colorway Bring Back. The sleeves are quite short thou I used 2 skeins, but this yarn is thinner than the original Cascade 220. Despite of the shortshorty sleeves this warms my neck, shoulders and back nicely....

Edesmenneen mummoni vyyhdinpuu saa nyt uutta käyttöä - My late grandmas skein winder has now new job.

Ketjua - Chain

Se on nyt valmis, veljeni tyttöystävän kaulaketju. Tein siihen nyt ihan yksinkertaisen mutta mielestäni sopivan ja kauniin lukon, joka toimii takuuvarmasti. Olen tähän oikein tyytyväinen. Hopealankaa meni metritolkulla ja painoa korulle tuli noin 43 grammaa.

It's ready now, the chain for my brothers girlfriend. I made a simple yet elegant and surely working lock. I'm happy with this, hopely she is too. I used metres of silver wire and the chain weighs about 43 grams (1,52 ounces).

Olen aiemmin tehnyt itselleni alla olevan hopeisen riipuksen, mutta siinä pari juotosta epäonnistui ja  koru katkesi, joten samalla kun juotin yllä olevaan kaulaketjun päätylenkit umpeen, juotin myös oman koruni uudestaan ja siitä kuva alla. Valo on vaikea asia näin syyspiemillä kuvatessa, joten näissä kuvissa hopean loistosta on vaikea nauttia...

I have previously amde a pendant of silver for myself but couple of soldenring joints were bad and it broke. So, at the same time I soldered the end-rings of the chain above, I soldered my pendant again and you can see it below. Light is a difficult thing at this time of year and in these pics you really can't enjoy the shine of silver...

Näpertelyä - Something random

Meillä pienet sairastaa ja niinpä tässä on tää viikonloppu menny lähinnä sisällä, joten mielen virkistystä oon pyrkiny saamaan taas tällä käsillä tekemisellä. Oon tässä huomannu myös, että tuo Ravelry-yhteisö on oiva paikka eksyä aiheesta toiseen. Joten... hmmmm.... mä päätin että pitää kokeilla kehräämistä. Jonkinmoisia perinnerukkeja vois aitan vintiltä löytyä, mutta ens alkuun kätevä emäntä tekee itselleen värttinän, heh. :D
Ja tässä se sitte on...

My little ones have flu and fever, so I have had to be inside this weekend quite much. For somekind of refreshment I needed to do something with my own hands. I've also noticed that Ravelry community is a good place to find something new to learn and do. So I wanted to learn to spin. There are couple of spinning wheels at the attic of our shed but firstly I wanted to try a spindle, which I made myself with help of my husband. And here you see it...

Eipä ollu muuta ku Novita hahtuvaista koeajoon, mutta kyllä sillä lankaa saa aikaseks :)))  -  I did not have anything else for trial than Novita hahtuvainen, but I made some yarn :)))

 
Pitkään aikaan en oo mitään hopeajuttuja tehny, mut veljeni sai mut taas testailemaan. Hän kun haluais antaa mielitietylleen kaulaketjun. En oo vielä viestiä saanu että oisko tällänen prinsessaketju (kuningasketjun muunnos) "SE juttu", mutta kaunista se on ja nykyisillä hopean hinnoilla musta aika kallistakin. Juuri tein aikasemmin päivällä hopealankatilauksen ja hinnat on varmaan liki kaksinkertaistunu viime tilauskerrasta pari vuotta sitten...

For a long time I haven't done anything of silver. Now my brother would like to give a necklace for his sweetheart. I haven't heard from him is this princess chain ( a modification of king chain) "THE thing"? But I like this and nowadays this ain't cheap. Silver prices are quite high now, almost doubled from last time I ordered some couple of years ago...
