Elämää Tourin jälkeen? - Life after Tour?

Jaa-a, on sitä vissiin. Loma meneillään, mutta ulkona on ilmat kuin syyskuussa, ei oikein tunnu kesältä nyt. Tourin tavoitteet tuli saavutettua ja kehrättyä enemmän kuin olin edes budjetoinut, eli ekstraa on tuo ruskea paikallisesti kasvatettu ja itse karstaamani Suomenlampaan villa. Siitä tullee piparkakkupoika-sukat pojalleni. Mut nyt täytyy testineuletta jatkaa, joskin vasen ranne ja peukalo on jonkinverran eri mieltä siitä. En oo varmaan ikinä neulonu niin vinhaa vauhtia kuin viime päivinä ja se alkaa tuntua - ikävältä kädessä. Tosin se neule on ihanaa, mutta vähän nyt tylsää just nyt.

I think there is some life. I have vacation ongoing, but weather feels like September, not summer. My Tour de Fleece goals are all reached. In fact I span more than I preset. The extra yarn is that brown Finn, which is locally raised and my own handcarded. My son wants to have gingerbread-boy socks of it. But now I have to test-knit more, even if my left wrist and thumb disagree. I think I haven't knit this mcuh ever in a week as I have in last week. And that is feeling - bit unpleasant in my hand. That garment I'm knitting, is lovely but bit boring just now too.

Tour de Fleece 2013

Tourin eka päivä alkoi kertaamisella, mistä jo edellisessä postauksessa juttua olikin, ja tässä valmis vyyhti FiberArtemisin merino-kashmir-silkkiä. Tää on NIIIIIIN ihanaa.

The first Tour de Fleece race day started with plying and here's the ready skein of FiberArtemis merino-cashmere-silk.. This is SOOOOO lovely.

Limegreenjellyn merino-alpakka-kameli-silkkiä värissä "Green Eyed Monster" lyhytvedolla 2-säikeisenä noin worsted-paksuisena, 103 grammaa, 206 metriä. Kehrätty 29.6.-1.7.13.
Tää oli ihanaa kehrättävää, mutta värjäsi hiukan sormia ja huuhteluvettä. Pehmeää lankaa vaikka pipoon.

Limegreenjelly merino-alpaca-camel-silk in colorway "Green Eyed Monster", with short-draw 2-ply about worsted weight, 3.6ozs and 225yds. Spun June 29.- July 1. 2013.
This was a lovely blend to spin, but it coloured my fingers during spinning and leaked green colour to soaking water. Soft and squishy yarn for exmaple hat or beanie.

Edgewood Garden Studion mashamia värissä "Dark Cherries", pitkävedolla 2-säikeistä, pitsi/light fingering-vahvuista 119grammaa ja 532 metriä. Kehrätty 2.-7.7.13.
Minusta ja mashamista ei taida tulla kavereita, on liian karheaa minun makuuni. Eikä tämä aiemman kokemukseni mukaan ole mitään navajoitavaa tavaraa, joten värien sekoittumista ei pysty estämään. Topsin värit on paljon kauniimmat kuin valmiin langan.

Me and masham are still not friends. This fiber is too rough and based on previous masham spinning it's not a fiber to navajo-ply, so one can't stop colors from blending during spinning. The top was gorgeous before spinning and the yarn isn't my favourite because of blending.

Tour on edelleen kesken, yksi lepopäiväkin vielä ensi maanantaina, ja melkein siis viikko vielä jäljellä. Mun Tour on nyt menny niin hyvin, että tavoitteet tullevat saavutettua. Mulla on nyt rukilla LanitiumExMachinan superwash BFL-bambu-nailonia värissä "Hysteria". Tykkään kehruutuntumasta tosi paljon, vaikka bambuisemmat kohdat onkin välillä vähän liukkaita. Ja väri, se on ihan parasta tässä. Tosin tämä tuntuu nyt modifioidulla lyhytvedolla kestävän ikuisuuden. Ja muutenkin nyt, vaikka lomakin alkoi, on vähän vähemmän kehruuaikaa, kun puikoille hyppäsi testineule, jonka dead-line on pelottavan pian, mutta siitä sitten myöhemmin.

Tour is still on go, one rest day left too, next Monday, and therefore almost week left. My Tour seems to go so well that I manage to reach my goals. I have now LanitiumExMachina superwash BFL-bamboo-nylon top (colorway "Hysteria") on wheel. I love to spin this top, it feels nice. Those spots where there's more bamboo are bit slippy, but the color is the best part of this. Even if I like to spin this, it feels and seems to take forever with modified short-draw. Now, despite that my vacation started, I have less time to spin. I promised to test-knit to a designer and dead-line nears ominously. But about that I'll tell you more later.
